Pastries were good! Arrived around midday though so some of the items weren't available. Service was excellent and we even received a free milk tea with purchase. My favorite was the honey bread. Everything tasted fresh and unique. Loved it.

I saw this place on Instagram. I happen to be in the area and finally got to try it. I am so glad they opened in Riverside. We need more Asian bakeries in the Inland Empire! This place brings me back to the old bakeries in Rowland Heights and Monterey Park. It is small. It looks pretty new on the inside and out. They have cakes and desserts in a refrigerated case. But most of their breads and desserts are lined up against the wall. There are trays. No tongs but everything is individually wrapped. The one thing that stands out to me is their desserts are so pretty in presentation. The turtle pineapple bun looks like a turtle. I wouldn't have gotten it except that it looked so cute. They also had a blueberry torturo. It was shaped into an animal. Again I had to get it. I got a pork sung bun as well. A coconut bun and mango dessert were also in my cart. My favorite dessert was the blueberry totoro bun. It was a blueberry bun sitting on a chocolate stand. So good! The pork sung puff was also very good. My last favorite was the turtle pineapple bun. It was a bit dry for me but overall it was not bad. I will certainly be back to support this family owned bakery. The prices were great, too!

Uncle Chuang's has been one of my favorite bakeries for years now. Staff is friendly. The inside is clean and well-organized. It's a grab-and-go type situation, so there isn't any seating. There are trays at the entrance, so you just take one, pile on your selections, and take them to the counter to check out. No restroom. Parking is easy since they are located in the University Village shopping plaza. It is a ticketed lot, but you can get a few hours free with validation. It can feel crowded when they're busy because it's a small shop, but the noise level stays relatively mild. They have a good variety of refrigerated and non-refrigerated options, as well as both sweet and savory items. There are some limited drink options as well. The cold sandwiches and pork sung spam musubi are so good! Get there early if you want to try them because they do sell out frequently. I also highly recommend the fruit sponge cakes and honey cakes. Prices are fair. 10/10 recommend.
